Sažetak
Seasonal distribution of heterotrophic nanoflagellates (HNF) was studied in the moiddle Adriatic Sea at three sites, first located in high eutrophic area, second in moderate eutrophic area, and third in oligotrophic area. At all three sites high HNF abundance was found during summer with maximum values in July. In July HNF biomass was about 30% of bacterial biomass, while minimum values (less than 10%) were established in spring. An average ratio between bacterial and HNF biomass (B/HNF) decreased from high eutrophic area (B/HNF = 7.9) to oligotrophic area (B/HNF = 4.2).
