Sažetak
Cadmium concentrations in muscle, partially i liver and kidney of freshwater fish, as well as in water and pounds sediments, were investigated using the atomic absorption spectrophotometry method during the period 1980-1992. The fish species investigated were: omnivorous ( carp, teach, goldfish, bream, crucian carp, roach) ; carnivorous ( pike, sheat fish, cat fish, perch, pike perch, ruff, barbel, chub, chrup, butbot) ; herbivorous (grass carp, silver carp). The fishponds in wich fishes were sampled were: Crna Mlaka Okučani, Pakračka Poljana, Garešnica, Čazma, Draganić, Našice, Belje, Jelas polje, Končanica. The rivers in wich the fish were sampled were: the Sava, the Drava, the Kupa, the Črnec. Median cadmium concentrations in the muscle tissue of omnivorous and carnivorous fish from fishponds were 0.005 and 0.043 mcg/g respectively. Median cadmium concentrationsin the muscle tissue of omnivorous and carnivorous fish in rivers were 0.005 aqnd 0.008 mcg/g respectively. Contamination of fish by cadmium was of the same magnitude, although median cadmium concentration for muscle tissue of carnivorous pond fish was the highest, although not statistically significant. No median value of cadmium in muscle tissue exceeded the maximum acceptable concetration, although 11.3% of all muscle samples exceeded that concentration
