Sažetak
The project present here deals with "Spectacles of Power and the Body in Italian Media Culture". It focuses on the Italian media culture (1900-1930) in the context of the abrupt emergence of new media at the 1900 turn of the century, being reflected almost immediatly and simultaneously in the manifestos of the European avant-gardes, as well as in their performance of everyday day life. Concentrating on the changes both in the ways of perception and in aestetic practice observable in the stratification of decadentism, futurism and fascism on one hand, on medial performances of cultural models like power, body and genderon the oder, this project, with its exemplary focus on Italy, represents an innovatove filed of research on the avant-garde.
