Sažetak
The activity of malic enzyme (ME) has often been used as a criterion of triiodothyronine (T3) effect in the liver. There is a nonlinear (amplified) relationship between nuclear accupacy by T3 and the synthesis of ME in the rat liver. In the present study the effect of T3 on the activity of ME in the rat liver and kidney was determined together with a general effect on protein synthesis in these organs.
