Sažetak
The paper presents the most important data on the discovery of vitamin B6 50 years ago, and on the development of industrial production of this vitamin in PLIVA for 30 years. Biological properties and main chemical syntheses of pyridoxine hydrochloride and its derivatives have been described. Research works in PLIVA in the field of vitamin B6 have been reviewed in a separate section, which deals mostly with research on azadienic synthesis of pyridoxine and its biologically active derivatives. In addition, a series of new substances of potential biological activity have been synthesized.
