Sažetak
The discovery of the antibacterial, antiviral, and antitumor activities of the transition metal complexes with thiosemicarbazone ligands has stimulated our study of syntheses, characterization and biological relevance of such molybdenum(VI) complexes.[1– 2] New dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes were obtained by the reaction of [MoO2(acac)2] with 4-methylthiosemicarbazone ligands derived from salicylaldehyde (H2L1) or 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde (H2L2). In all complexes the ligands are coordinated to molybdenum as tridentate ONS-donors through phenolic-oxygen, imine-nitrogen and thiol-sulphur. The octahedral coordination of each Mo atom is completed by two terminal oxo groups (that are cis to each other) and one neutral donor molecule (D = methanol, water or the neighbouring complex molecule). All compounds were characterized by means of chemical analysis, IR spectroscopy, TG measurements, some of them by X-ray crystallography, and by one and two-dimensional NMR method. [1] V. Vrdoljak, M.
