Sažetak
The feeding habits of sand smelt were studied by examining the stomach contents of 1236 fishes collected from March 2001 to February 2002.Thirteen diferent food categories were identified. The greastest diversity was recorded in winter, when 11 categories were present. Crustacean were the most common prey, and of these, the most common were copepods, followed by gammarid amphipods, cladocerans, decapod larvae and mysids. The opportunistics mode of feeding on the species Atherina boyeri is discussed.
