Sažetak
In the framework of the project a bilateral collaboration was established between the Energy Agency of Styria - LEV and the Energy insitute Hrvoje Pozar and Ekonerg holding from Croatia. The joint activities include forming a wider consortium of partners (city municipalities, universities, chambers of commerce, farmers, ... ), preparation and completion of the feasibility study, a strong promotional/educational campaign within which it is planned to drive two Zagreb city busses on biodiesel starting in 2004, education of bus drivers and other personnel from the public transportation company and education of households and restaurant owners about methods and benefits of waste oil collection. Since the introduction of the collection system both from households and restaurants is usually not an easy goal to achieve, this is regarded as a very important component in order for the project to be successful. The construction of a demonstration biodiesel plant is indicated as the next step to follow and is planned in 2005. The paper describes in detail the background for the project, ways of cooperation between Austria and Croatia on various levels, the main results and the future activities of the project
