Sažetak
Karstic ponds are mainly semi-natural, small water habitats characteristic for their great biological diversity. Due to many factors, of which the most important one is progressive succesion caused by abandoning traditional cattle breeding and neglecting to maintain them, these habitats are one of the most critically threatened in Croatia. Floristic reseach of karstic ponds was carried out in the year 2002., during April, July and October as a part of our student project 'Flora and fauna of the karstic ponds of Istria'. Aquarian, marsh and riparian plant species were recorded on 6 karstic ponds in the western part of Istria and the data that were obtained were analyzed.
