Sažetak
3D FEM analysis of a Chemical Tanker was performed. The coarse-mesh, asymmetric, two holds-coarse mesh-FE model was developed. The fine mesh analysis of bulkheads was performed. Loading conditions were adjusted to LR requirements for direct calculations. Structural mass was included together with cargo loading. Pressures were calculated according to LR requested distributions. Fine mesh models for Detail Stress Analysis were developed. Critical areas in global and DSA models were identified. Micro mesh analysis of weld connections were analysed using plane strain approach for aligned and misaligned welds.
