Sažetak
Serum concentration of porcine LH and FSH were determined in gilts by RIA on day 6 before the onset of the next expected estrus, i.e. in the follicular phase of the estrous cycle. In this period, serum concentration of LH and FSH initially remaind relatively low becouse of negative feedback input by 17beta-estradiol, so that the normal serum concentration of LH and FSH in intact gilts ranged from 0.50 to 0.70 ng/ml and from 3.10 to 4.00 ng/ml, respectively. At 20 min of exogenous GnRH administration, serum LH and FSH response increased more than 8 and 4 times, respectively, from the normal levels of these gonadotropic hormones measured in the serum of intact gilts.
