Sažetak
The speech quality of three modalities of speech rehabilitation following total laryngectomy: oesophageal speech, speech with assistance of electrolarynx and speech by means of implanted tracheoesophageal prosthesis were analyzed. At Phoniatric Center of ENT Department Salata, 39 patients underwent speech rehabilitation, in period from May 2002 to June 2003. Oesophageal speech was successfully adopted by 14 patients, 8 underwent implantation of speech prosthesis and 17 patients speak with help of electrolarynx. We performed acoustic analysis upon all three groups and made subjective evaluation of the voice quality. Obtained results showed the best quality of voice in patients with implanted tracheoesophageal prosthesis (Provox2). Inspite of good speech results by means of implanted tracheoesophageal prosthesis and because of the current health and social-economic situation, we don't neglect the importance of oesophageal speech learning.
