Sažetak
Energy problem due to fossil fuels eventual exhaustion and even more their negative environmental impact make renewable energy sources more and more desireable. Although it is still not currently competitive, photovoltaic industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world with promising potential to become serious energetic alternative in the next few decades. In this work, a brief overview of photovoltaic industry and trends are given. Having excellent geographical and climate conditions, especially in coastal parts of the country, Croatia could have considerable amount of electrical energy generated by photovoltaics.
