Sažetak
Rubber network formation is known to be dependent
on the nature of the crosslinking agent. In turn,
crosslink density produced does decisively
determine rubber physicochemical properties and
service life. The amounts of sulphur accelerators
added should be balanced accordingly to the
expeced rates of sulphur donation reactions to
double bonds of polyisporene elastomer. Three
systems of accelerations were applied to natural
rubber, NR vulcanisations. First, zinc
diethylditiocarbamate, ZDEC; second, zinc
mercaptobenzothiazole, ZMBT; and a third, i.e.
the combination of ZMBT and diphenylguanidin, DPG.
Thermo-oxidative ageing in hot air was carried
out afterwards and the crosslink-density
determinations of the agend samples were studied.
Two methods were used, stress-strain measurements
as well as equilibrium swelling. Thiazole
accelerator was found to produce vulcanised
rubber that differs at ageing in the way that not
only the processes involving sulphur-crossling
moieties chemistry but also polymer main-chain
scission phenomena that are supposed to be
present.
