Sažetak
Recently, two new promising "tissue equivalent" types of thermoluminescence detectors (TLDs) were developed: LiF:Mg, Cu, Na, Si (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) [1] and Li2B4O7:Cu, Ag, P (Institute of Nuclear Sciences, Vinča) [2], both in the form of sintered pellets. The aim of this work was to examine the energy dependence characteristics of these two types of detectors as a part of complete investigations of their main dosimetric properties. The results were compared with the characteristics of the well-known LiF:Mg, Ti (TLD-100) detector, which was irradiated simultaneously in the same irradiation conditions. TLDs previously calibrated with 137Cs gamma rays were irradiated with X-rays beams in the range of mean energies between 33 and 116 keV. The irradiations were performed: a) "In air" - the energy dependence was determined as a characteristic of the TL detector material itself. Measured energy responses of TLDs relative to air kerma were compared with the calculated ratios of mass energy absorption coefficients for ICRU muscle and air. b) On the 30 cm x 30 cm x 15 cm water slab phantom with PMMA walls (ISO phantom). Measured energy responses were compared with calculated data for Hp(10) values. The results show that investigated TL detectors possess satisfactory “ tissue equivalency” in the applied range of photon energies. They were also compared with the energy dependences of other types of TL detectors based on LiF (LiF.Mg, Ti and LiF:Mg, Cu, P) and lithium borate (Li2B4O7:Cu, In and Li2B4O7:Cu, In, Ag) obtained in our earlier investigations. The influence of different activators was discussed.
