Sažetak
This work describes the method for the perceptual evaluation of speech quality that is called modulation quality evaluation (MQE). The method relies on the assumption that modulation of the speech is its dominant characteristics. The theory behind the method and algorithm of implementation are fully described. The comparison with ITU_T P.862 PESQ method, when testing coded and noise modulated speech signals, shows high correlation coefficients, ranging from 0.976 to 0.996.
