Sažetak
Hugo Besedovsky demonstrated immune-brain communications more than 35 years ago. His recent findings concern the ability of IL-1 (centrally mediated immune challenge) to induce hypoglycaemia (response of immune tissue on periphery). So we no longer question that injection of immune modulators can affect the brain or that the immune system can interfere with neurotransmitters or neuroendocrine system. The question today is viewed rather as advantage or disadvantage of such "cooperation" between several systems [1].
