Sažetak
Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) was investigated as a mesoderm inducer, also as neural inducer. Nerve growth factor (NGF) has a trophic role for the distinct neural population in peripheral nervous system. 14-days organ culture of postimplantation rat embryo was established to investigate the role of FGF and NGF in mammylian development. Embryos were treated 100 ng/ml and 200 ng/ml of FGF and NGF, and with both agents combined. NGF did not improve differentiation of neuroblasts. The differentiation of neuroblasts was significantly higher in FGF-treated embryos (more obviously when 200 ng/ml was used) and about the same as in NGF/FGF-treated embryos. Neuronal differentiation is probably initially regulated with FGF signal rather than NGF.
