Sažetak
The aim of this study is to investigate RIASEC structure of vocational interests in Croatian data and assess the validity of Holland's theory in a different cultural environment. We administered Croatian version of Holland's SDS to three different age samples of Croatian elementary and high school students (N=1044). We analyzed whether hypothesized hexagonal structure of interests could be found in different age and gender subsamples and whether empirically found RIASEC structure could be adequately represented by people-things and data-ideas dimensions. In addition, we located groups of respondents (differing in gender, age, and pursued vocation) in interests' plane according to their RIASEC data and checked whether their empirical location fits their hypothesized position. The obtained results generally support the construct validity of Holland's theory in Croatian samples and its use as a framework for vocational guidance in different cultural environments.
