Sažetak
Safety and immunogenicity of pigeon poxvirus vaccine given by mean of nebulisation to newly hatched chickens, was compared to standard modes of application. Chickens didn't show any clinical reaction to the given vaccine regardless the mode of vaccination, the same as the unvaccinated group. Immunity was confirmed by challenge infection on 21st day of age by wing-web puncture, using velogenic field strain of chicken poxvirus. The skin reaction measured on 35th day (14 days after challenge) was significantly more intensive in unvaccinated compared to vaccinated groups of chickens.
