Sažetak
In the Osijek Military District (Eastern Slavonia), 877 Croatian Army soldiers were killed, 2, 183 seriously wounded, 2, 156 lightly wounded and 48 reported missing during the preiod from July 1, 1991, to September 1, 1993. The ratio of the wounded and killed was 5:1. According to the causes, there were 50.2% shell and mine wounds and 24.3% gunshot wounds. There were 168 casualties in traffic accidents ; 39 died and 67 were wounded. In the military formations, there were 125, 150 recorded diseases. poisoning, injuries and their consequences were recorded in 13.8% of the cases. Diseases of the respiratory (26.9%), musculosceletal (17.7%) and gastrointestinal system (8.7%) were the most common. Injuries (19%) were most common in the Croatian Army professional units. There were only 1.6% of mental diseases, while 13% of the diseases were not classified. Reserve troops had 13.9% injuries, including 0.1% suicide attempts and self-wounding. Home Guard units had 5.8% injuries. In the garrison and logistic base medical offices, establishe after the cessation of the active conflict, total of 20, 260 check-ups was recorded. Injuries and their consequences were by far the most common (22.5%). During the active conflict, the ratio between disease and injury was 4.7 - 1, while the ratio of 3.4:1 was recorded in the garrison and logistic base medical offices after the 1992 cease-fire agreement.
