Sažetak
Toxicological investigations were performed in serum and feed samples coming from suspected for mycotoxic porcine nephropathy (MPN) regions with high frequency of changes as "enlarged mottled or pale kidneys" established during the meat inspection in Bulgaria. Ochatoxin A (OA) appears to contaminate 100 % of investigated 17 feed samples in levels 207 ppb - mean for 1993 and 114, 1 ppb - mean for 1994. The percentage of positive serum samples and mean concentration of OA were significantly higher (p<0.05) in spring (100 % and 60.9 ng/ml) than the autumn (48 % and 21, 9 ng/ml for 1994 ; 64 % and 4.8 ng/ml for 1993).
