Sažetak
The last decade of 20th century has been characterized by a powerful breakthrough of the molecular biology methods in the diagnosis of viral diseases. Viral hepatitis is a major cause of morbidity worldwide. it is estimated that about 1% of the world population suffer from chronic hepatitis infection. Therefore, great effort have been made toward the discovery of new transmissible viral agents assocoiated with viral hepatitis of unknown etiology. The discovery of hepatitis C virus(HCV) in 1989 and of hepatitis E virus (HEV) in 1990 has supported the belief that virtually all cases of viral hepatitis would be attributable to s known hepatitis agent....
