Sažetak
Re-defining of the European air traffic regulation system at the beginning of the 21st century that should match the predicted traffic growth, has been stipulated first of all by the technical aspect of the development and implementation of sophisticated communication, navigation and radar systems, and then also by the organizational and technological revisions, e.g. of flight procedures, data and flight plans processing, minimal aircraft separation etc. The integration of Croatia into the unique European air traffic control system assumes also the adjustments at the institutional and technological levels, i.e. the implementation of the relevant international standards within the national air traffic regulations. Due to the direct influence on the reintegration of the international air traffic flows (renewed overflights), the participation of Croatia in the European integration projects, mainly within EATCHIP and ATM 2000+ can be denoted as the main objective in the development strategy of the national aviation. The positive dispositions of Croatia are reflected in her favorable geo-traffic location (the option of the shortest routes between the North-western and South-eastern Europe). However, the required implementation of the sophisticated technology, the same as for other countries in transition, presents a limiting factor in the equality of integration.
