Sažetak
Degree of decentralisation has a great impact on generating economic development through the local sector financing. Thus the presumption of the analyses is that increasing of fiscal sovereignty of local sector is precondition of faster growth and development. In the first part of the research it has to be defined relationship between the economic development and the degree of government decentralisation in modern economies (Oates, 1993). In the second part of the research it has to be analysed the current model of political-administrative divisions and the system of division of public revenues in the Republic of Croatia which defines the power of financial and development activity on the level of the local sector. At the end, the research is to be devoted on possibilities of use of fiscal and nonfiscal instruments in financing development by the local government.
