Sažetak
The purpose of this study was to determine the usefulness of an electronic psychodiagnostic series, Complex Reactionmeter Drenovac (CRD) in assessing neuropsychological characteristics of workers in specific conditions - radar technicians, who are submitted to regular health check-ups every year.
Subjects were 51 male radar technicians, aged between 23 and 56 years (M=36.1), who have worked with radar 1 to 22 years (M=11.4), and all have secondary school education (12 years). Extensive medical examination confirmed their good medical condition.
Methods: 1. CRD - electronic psychodiagnostic series for measuring mental and psychomotor abilities. Three different tests were used. CRD1 for measuring convergent thinking, CRD 4 for complex psychomotor reactions and CRD N2 for visual orientation and identification of progressive series of numbers. Sum time and sum errors on each test were used for statistical analysis.
2. Numerical, verbal-logic and associative short term memory from Wechsler Memory Scale
3. Subtest "Block Design" from Wechsler-Bellevue II
4. Personality questionnaire Cornell Index
Results: All obtained mean values on applied psychological tests are within permissible values for age and education. Variable "Block Design" reached significant correlation with all CRD variables (r = -.35 to -.61), which suggests its redundancy. Sum score on Cornell Index questionnaire shows only one significant coefficient (r = .30) with variable CRD N2 which makes it independent, as well as variable "Verbal-logic memory" with no significant correlation at all. Our results indicate that usual performance tests could be successfully replaced with specially prepared electronic instruments i.e. simple and/or complex reactionmeters. The inner factorial structure of results gained on these electronic instruments shows high congruency which makes it possible to introduce many more parallel forms of the same test, enabling retesting and increasing its usability.
