Sažetak
Carl Heitzmann (1836-1896) and his brother Julius Heitzmann (1847-1922) were born within Regnum Hungarie. Carl was born on October 2nd, 1836, in Vinkovci, Croatia of today, Kingdom of Hungary (Austrian Empire) then. He studied in Budapest and in Vienna and graduated M.D. in 1859. Julius Heitzmann his younger brother was on the other hand born in Budapest on December 22nd 1847 and spent his childhood and youth there. Later he joined his brother at the Medical faculty in Vienna from where he graduated in 1871. Both brothers contributed water colours, for most important dermatology atlases of the period such as Hebra´s and Kaposi's. Their influence in the field of iconography was enormous.
