Sažetak
Sol is a colloidal dispersion of particles in a liquid, usually aqueous but sometimes an organosol. Sol-gel processing may be carried out by dipping, spinning, flowing and spraying. The technique is still in the development stage, but it seems that it has considerable potential. The effect of synthesis parameters, such as molar ratio of Zr-n-butoxide / acetylacetone / water / nitric acid and thermal treatment on the stability of ZrO2-sols, their gelling time and crystalline characteristics were studied. . The abrasion wear testing was performed with an abrasive ring (small size of silicon carbide abrasives) and the obtained results were analysed.
