Sažetak
Until today, the model of charging traffic infrastructure was oriented towards the return of the invested share and its servicing. The technical and technological progress, and the ever increasing need for mobility and a number of other factors have stipulated the increase in the traffic volume, having in turn positive and negative effects on the society. One of the most striking negative effects, especially in the downtown city areas, includes congestion which negatively affects the safety, environment, economy and generally the quality of living. It is therefore necessary to define such traffic policy which will set new models for the purpose of solving the given problem. The paper will analyse the possibilities of new charging systems for the usage of the road infrastructure with the aim of reducing the external costs in traffic. The already existing charging mechanisms (models) in the world will be analysed, as well as their implementation, and the policy of investing with such a charging system. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of such models regarding the traffic system will be defined.
