Sažetak
The objective of this study was to evaluate usefulness of different selection criteria (grain yield per plant, number of grains per spike of the longest culm and grain weight per spike of the longest culm) as compared to control (no selection) applied in F2 and F3 generation and correlations among analysed traits in F3 and F4 generation of two crossing combination of winter wheat (Soissons/Zitarka and Soissons/Sana) in one-year experiment (1999/2000) at two sites (Osijek and Nova Gradiska). Realized gain from selection, as compared to the control, was only found in the cross Soissons/Sana in F4 generation in Osijek for grain weight per spike and it was 16, 5% and 318 mg. For other selection criteria it was not found any realized gain from selection. The most prominent correlations were found between grain yield per plot and number of spikes per plot, number of grains per spike and grain weight per spike (from strong to complete positive correlation) and between grain weight per spike and mass of single grain (from medium to very strong positive correlation).
