Sažetak
Recent educational tax provisions may present large potential benefits to many clients. However, determining which metod of saving for college is best for given family has become much more complex. This article provides an overview of the tax provisions and models the after-tax wealth benefits of investments in three types of college saving strategies. The use of such a projection is preferable to a naive rule of thumb applied to all client situations. The better the consultant's knowledge of the client's circumstances and how they affect these trade-offs, the greater the benefit to the client.
