Sažetak
My intervention discussed the position of civil society organisations in the context of protecting intellectual property protection online, and the expected impact of the Digital Services Act. The issues revolved around counterfeit products on online marketplaces as well as copyright infringements on social media. In particular, this intervention drew attention to risks related to intellectual property on very large online platforms, but also of the risks that content moderation may encroach upon some of the fundamental freedoms of the users, such as of expression and information. The important issue is that CSOs do not have capacities to assist and/or represent users when their rights and freedoms are violated on the online services due to the rightholders notices and requests.
