Sažetak
The article discusses two texts from Split and the island of Brač in which the authors present their visions of local ethnic identities. While the text by Thomas the Archdeacon from Split dates into the mid-thirteenth century, the short chronicle of the ilsand of Brač, written by Domnius de Cranchis was written around 1400. They offer some similarities, but they differ in respect to the interpretation of antique origins of the local population.
