Sažetak
The Institute of Art History has been situated in the building of the former "Moša Pijade" Workers' University, now the Open University, since 1992. The building is the work of architects Radovan Nikšić and Ninoslav Kučan (1956-1961). This representative modernist style construction for educational purposes was awarded the City of Zagreb Award for the best architectural achievement, interior and equipment in 1961 and has been listed in the Register of Cultural Property of the Republic of Croatia since 2003. Although the building has been built by state-of- the-art technology in construction of that time, today, after almost 55 years, it needs a thorough restoration with the utmost preservation of the original design. From the energy efficiency point of view, the greatest drawback of the building is its thermal insulation. Revitalization of the space would ensure more efficient and comfortable space for work, as well as serve as an example to other conservation projects that aim to green the surfaces.
