Sažetak
A two-step irreversible electrode reaction with the intermediate that is irreversibly bound to the electrode surface is simulated for linear scan voltammetry. The response may exhibit either single peak, or two peaks, depending on the stability of intermediate. The first electron transfer depends on the diffusion of the reactant, while the second one is a function of the accumulated intermediate. For this reason the second peak current is higher than the first one and the single peak response may split into two peaks under the influence of increased scan rate. The influence of thermodynamic and kinetic parameters on two components of the response is analysed.
