Sažetak
Croatian historiography lacks works on the subject of castles such as reliable studies on individual castles. Comparative analysis of such monographs would also facilitate further research and bring new views pertaining to problematics of castles. Unfortunately, Croatian historiography also lacks monographs which deal with important issues during the late Middle Ages in the Kingdom of Slavonia. Research on prominent individuals such as, for example, Jan Vitovec, the Bishop of Zagreb John Albeni or noble families such as Talovac and others would be particularly helpful. All aforementioned people were in some segments of their activities linked with Garić and examining their lives in detail would surely contribute to the studies of castle Garić’s history, along with other castles in Slavonia. So far that void is only filled by Hungarian historians, but the language barrier poses a lot of problems for most Croatian researchers and translations of their works are unfortunately very scarce.
