Sažetak
The importance of creating modular user interface (UI) patterns that are adaptable to various screen sizes and window dimensions has increased in recent years. One such pattern is the card UI element, which serves as a visual container that combines content and actions on a specific topic. The purpose of this element is to provide a quick overview and motivate users to interact with it to discover more details. Commonly used card manipulation gestures are often accompanied by animation of the card element. When animation is used adequately, it can assist users in developing mental models of how the system operates and how they may interact with it. The quality of the animation, including the transition time, movement type, and fluidity, may have a significant impact on user experience. This paper examines how the animation of card UI elements affects user perception and experience. We conducted a study to determine whether the movement of card UI elements could be linked to specific application or website categories by utilizing four different card animation prototypes. We also evaluated user experience for different transition parameters and compared the user experience of flip and expand animations. By examining these factors, we hope to provide insight into how to optimize card UI animations for optimal user experience.
