Sažetak
Studies in Croatia continually indicate a need for interventions for mental health promotion and prevention of internalizing problems (Novak & sur., 2021 ; Antičević, 2021 ; Buljan Flander & sur., 2020). A World Health Organisation (WHO, 2004) report on the “Prevention of Mental Disorders” cited the Australian developed FRIENDS programme (Games, Thompson & Barrett, 2019) as an evidence-based programme effective at all levels of intervention for anxiety and depression in children, including targeted, selective, and universal prevention programmes. The CBT-based FRIENDS resilience programmes are developmentally sensitive with four separate programmes standardised for age-groups: “Fun Friends” for ages 4–7, “Friends for Life” for ages 8–11, “My Friends Youth” for ages 12–15, and the “Adult Resilience Program” (Barrett, 2011) for ages 16 years and above. During 2022/2023 Croatia was a 16th country in the world to translate and adapt FRIENDS programme. Considering what works in prevention (Nation & sur., 2003) this presentation will address implementation of this Evidence Based Program (EBP) on a community level considering Evidence Informed Program Improvement (EPII ; Small, Cooney & O’Connor, 2009) as well as Quality Implementation Framework (QIF ; Myers, Durlak & Wandresman, 2012) to share practices of quality assurance and model greater effectiveness and accountability of the implementation of the prevention programmes on community level.
