Sažetak
Film music is one of the elements of a film’s sound track and it is considered to be a vital part of any film. It is usually referred to as background music or a film score. The role of music in a film is often abstract. A film score can influence the viewer’s experience of the film by eliciting certain emotions and manipulating the viewer’s perception of the characters and the plot. It can also be used as a tool to convey an intended mood of a film and paint the internal world of the characters by hinting at their perception and motivation. One of the most famous composers working today is Hans Zimmer, whose sound has influenced many composers. This paper aims to analyse Hans Zimmer’s evolving sound through the analysis of different musical motifs found in: The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight and Interstellar.
