This thesis aims at examining and putting forward some already familiar, as well as the newly proposed reflections, i.e. influences of the French art produced between the mid- 19th and early 20th centuries found in three films directed by Vincente Minnelli, including An American in Paris (1951), Lust for Life (1956), and Gigi (1958).
