Sažetak
Giuseppe Michele Stratico (1728-1783) was very appreciated by his teacher G. Tartini who himself stated that he „possesses the whole soul of my [Tartini’s] school“. That would include violin playing, composing and theoretical thinking – three areas in which Stratico was indeed adept in. But starting from the theory of his teacher, Stratico developed new theoretical ideas and a new musical system of his own. The very basis of the system included the extension of the Sestupla to Ottupla. Stratico’s ideas were not acceptable to Tartini and may have been the reason for their divergence. Stratico elaborated his system in several versions of his Trattato di musica but it remained unpublished. In this chapter I will present the main features of Stratico's theoretical thinking emphasizing ways in which it differs from his teacher's theory.
