Sažetak
Early baroque Croatian composers and those working in the Croatian lands were an important factor in the context of contemporary European music, which is evidenced by their presence in the Central European music collections of the time. Compositions by Ivan Lukačić were included in the collection Deliciae sacrae musicae by Johannes Reininger from 1626 (alongside compositions by Orlando di Lasso, Giovanni Croce, Giacomo Finetti, Hans Leo Hassler, Isaac Posch, Lodovico Viadana, to name but a few notable names), as well as in the impressive collection by Johann Donfrid Promptuarii musici (third volume) from 1627. The questions are: what are the connections (if any) between the authors represented in those collections ; what are the similarities and differences of compositions selected as representative for publication in the said editions? Taking Lukačić’s motets as a starting position, in this paper the author will explore some of the possibilities of using digital humanities’ tools to analyze and compare musical features of compositions based on the selected examples from the Central European music collections. It will be examined whether analyzing and visualizing the pitch and duration distribution of the lead voice using the music21 tool can indicate some similarities and differences in the musical style of individual composers and thus be an aid and complement the traditional musicological research of the early Baroque repertoire.
