Sažetak
In this study, the influence of matrix composition on the simultaneous degradation of 5 contaminants of emerging concern during UVA-LED photocatalysis was investigated. The experiments evaluating the performance under different initial pHs showed that more basic environments tend to increase degradation rates, unless a lower pH favours a more reactive ionic state of the pollutant. The Design of Experiments (evaluating the influence of bicarbonates, nitrates, and humic acids in aqueous solutions during photocatalysis) showed that each compound reacts differently to matrix alterations. Process optimization will depend on the analysis of each case-scenario, the reactivity of each target pollutant, and the final effluent’s quality requirements.
