Sažetak
Introduction & Objectives Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare and highly aggressive primary cutaneous neuroendocrine carcinoma associated with frequent recurrences, metastasis and high mortality rate. At primary diagnosis with apparent cutaneous tumour, loco-regional metastases are already present in 30% of patients and 6-12% have distant metastatic disease. Up to 5% of cases present with no evident primary cutaneous tumour. The extent of disease at presentation is the single most important determinant of prognosis. Five-year overall survival for patients with advanced or metastatic disease is 13-18%. The prognosis is more favourable in patients who present with no obvious primary cutaneous tumor than in cases of cutaneous MCC with lymph node metastases. We report a case of a 66- year-old man who presented with a clinically detectable left ingvinal lymphadenopaty without an identifiable primary tumor.
