Sažetak
Unintentional body mass loss is a common symptom in malignant disease. It is associated with poor submission of therapy, inadequate treatment course, and it ultimately reduces the effectiveness. Our study shows that only half of patients had anamnestic data of body mass loss at the start of oncological treatment, which indicates a lack of awareness of importance nutritional status has in cancer patients. Simple nutrition risk assessment tool reveals that the majority of patients was in at least mild nutritional risk, what demands caution and probable nutritive intervention. Therefore, using nutritional tools and assessing nutritional status should be a standard part of comprehensive oncological care.
