Sažetak
The contingency theory posits that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to leadership and that the most effective leadership style depends on the specific situation. Fiedler’s contingency theory is a well-known management model that posits that a leader’s effectiveness is contingent upon the leader’s interaction style and situation. The theory has several advantages, including its relative simplicity and empirical evidence supporting it. However, one of its main shortcomings is that it needs to provide the best fit in situations with multiple contingencies. More recently, the theory has been applied in an attempt to improve ethical and moral standards within an organization by promoting responsibility among leaders and positive influence over followers.
