Sažetak
In this graduate thesis, the author chronologically analyzes the development of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization through the four most important operations after the end of the Cold War. The first military and peacekeeping operations of the Alliance were realized through operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war on the territory of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The intervention over the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was a continuation of the calming of the war conflicts in the former SFRY with the aim of stabilizing the conflict on the territory of Kosovo. Entering the 21st century, NATO has for the first time achieved a long-range force projection in Afghanistan during a peacekeeping mission to combat transnational terrorism. Experience in operations over the past two decades has enabled rapid consolidation during the intervention over Libya. The four most important operations have been selected to make it easier to spot the Alliance's adjustment through new post-Cold War strategic concepts.
