Sažetak
Chlorella vulgaris, a green unicellular microalga with numerous biological and pharmacological properties important for human health, was isolated and subjected to different drying conditions in order to determine the effect of applied temperature on phenolic profile and biological activity. The antioxidant activity was investigated by four spectrophotometric methods (ABTS, FRAP, ORAC, DPPH). In terms of anti-aging properties, in vitro collagenase inhibition was determined. The potential toxicity of tested samples was determined by zebrafish embryotoxicity test. Moreover, the qualitative identification of phenolic compounds in each sample was performed using HPLC. By using the ABTS assay, the highest antioxidant activity was observed for lyophilized sample. The same sample exhibited the highest anti-collagenase activity (up to 60.98 % on 0.13 mg/mL). Tested extracts showed no negative impact on the survival of zebrafish embryos. HPLC analysis showed that the lyophilized sample of C. vulgaris contains higher content of phenolic compounds compared to the dried sample. Collectively, both biological and chemical analysis, lyophilized C. vulgaris shows higher polyphenolic content and biological activity compared to dried biomass.
