Sažetak
In this book we will chronicle the life and work of four physicians from two families who share the same surname: Bibica. Both families, that of Baldo Bibica and his son Ante, and Marko Bibica and his son Marko, hail from the peninsula of Pelješac and are distant relatives. The story of the Bibica family members is certainly also a story of the city and its people, a story of lives and human destinies at a point in time, framed by the context of historical, social and political changes of that era. Their activities in Dubrovnik are important for our understanding of the medical history and development of the medical profession, while an account of their many social and sporting activities represents a valuable contribution and adds colour to the illustration of life and circumstances in Dubrovnik in the late 19th and early 20th century. It is a chronicle of people whose profession and emotions are inextricably linked to the City and who participated, in the best possible way, in the creation of its identity, enriching its daily life and leaving a trace in its remarkable history.
