Sažetak
Within the stream of competitive dynamics, structured content analysis is commonly used method for the analysis and systematization of data collected from the media. Structured content analysis is relevant method when conducting research on competitive behaviour of firms (Boyd and Bresser, 2008 ; Smith et al., 1991), and is particularly suitable for analysing the competitive activities of the leader and the behaviour of challengers in the market (Ferrier, Smith and Grimm, 1999). Since the competitive dynamics is actually consisted of a series of competitive moves and responses and their characteristics, the core of the problem the collection of relevant and consistent data about the competitive behaviour of companies which is later used as a basis for further analysis and conclusions. In this paper the focus is on the methodology of using structured content analysis and its concrete application to the study of competitive dynamics among the companies on the Croatian market. Main purpose of this paper is to provide a theoretical and practical overview on the importance of structurecontent analysis, with special emphasis of using it in the research stream of competitive dynamics.
